This season marks a decade of partnership between The Clipper Race and UNICEF. This year, The Clipper Race is aiming to raise $420,000 towards UNICEF’s work for children.
UNICEF
In many parts of the world children do not have access to education, medical treatment or even food. To combat this, UNICEF contributes substantially to grant all children around the world equal rights. Their mission is revolving around the following five targets:
- Every child grows up healthy and strong
- Every child learns
- Every child is protected from violence and exploitation
- Every child lives in a safe and clean environment
- every child has an equal chance
To reach these goals, UNICEF is pursuing specific measures. With this years fundraising target it is possible for example to vaccinate over 2 million children against deadly and devastating diseases, with life-long protection.
Something very close to my heart is education. Every child should be allowed to learn. This allows them later on to take decisions based on the aquired knowledge. Only through a good and well-rounded education poverty can be overcome sustainably.
Donating
I would be very happy if you could support my fundraising campaign with a small donation. With that you do not only help me an my team to achieve our goals, but first and foremost the children. They will benefit directly from the donation. Please follow this link to donate: https://www.justgiving.com/page/florian-clipper
Each donation counts no matter how large it is. Even a small donation of £5 could provide bed nets to 3 families to protect them from malaria. On the other hand a donation of £100 could buy a school-in-a-box kit to help 40 children continue learning in an emergency setting.
I will pick three donors, to whom I will send an exclusive video-message, which I will record during my journey. You will be entered irrespective of the amount you decide to give. The only thing I need is a way of contacting you. Therefore, it would be best if you could send me your contact details through my contact form.
